Southern University STEM DAY
Your child has been invited to attend a special tour hosted by the Southern University Agricultural Center. The event will take place on Tuesday, January 30th from 2:30pm-5:30pm. Your child will be picked up after school and transported to Southern University, students will receive a snack, connect with Southern University students, and be guided through the following learning objectives:

Educational Enhancement: Provide a platform for attendees to learn about the latest
advancements in technology and how they can be applied within the fields of science, engineering,
arts, and mathematics. This includes hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and lectures from
industry experts.
Innovation and Creativity: Encourage innovative thinking and creativity among participants by
hosting competitions, challenges, or hackathons that require the use of technology to solve realworld problems. This could involve coding, robotics, digital art, or design thinking.
Networking and Collaboration: Create opportunities for networking and collaboration between
technology professionals, educators, students, and enthusiasts. This objective aims to foster a
community that can share ideas, resources, and best practices.
Showcasing Emerging Technologies: Use the event as a platform to showcase emerging
technologies and their potential applications in various STEAM fields. This could include AR/VR
experiences, AI demonstrations, or exhibits of cutting-edge hardware and software.
Inspiring Future Generations: Inspire students and young attendees by exposing them to the
possibilities within the STEAM fields through technology. This can be achieved through
interactive sessions, mentorship opportunities, and by highlighting career paths in technology related fields.
