Big Buddy Bids Farewell to Longtime Vehicles
Big Buddy Bids Farewell to Two Vans, Seeks Donations to Purchase New Vehicles
On Friday, September 7, 2018, two of the Big Buddy vehicles made their last voyage to their final destination – the junk yard!
Since 1998 and 2001, these two vans have exhausted their use of transporting Little Buddies to academic and enrichment programs, field trips, weekend activities with one-on-one mentors, and nutrition to and from schools and summer camps gaining over 400,000 miles.
Many of the past Little Buddies, now Legacies to Big Buddy, have fond memories of the vans transporting them to a special activity such as fishing, bowling, a special learning experience at a local museum, or a visit to the local zoo.
A fundraising campaign will take place through the end of the calendar year. Next year, as Big Buddy celebrates its 40th anniversary, plans are to purchase another vehicle to continue transporting underserved youth in our community.
Please help us purchase new vehicles to continue transporting our youth to activities, nutrition to the schools and camp sites and our mentors and mentees to their one-on-one weekend activities. We are asking that you give one 1 dollar for every mile.
Your donation, big or small, will help us.
