Tutoring Project

WordPlay's newest addition WordSkills Tutoring Project matches classrooms and individual students with tutors who provide intensified tutoring for teens looking to strengthen their writing skills.

As part of WordPlay Teen Writing Project, WordSkills promotes and sustains a culture of excitement about writing amongst teens, teaches basic and advanced literacy skills, helps teens see connections between content and conventions, and empowers teens to become self-directed learners.

In the Spring of 2007 WordSkills will provide free afterschool tutoring at two of our partner schools, Broadmoor and Glen Oaks.

Broadmoor

Tutors: Latasha Weatherspoon and Khadijah Abdullah

Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-4pm

Glen Oaks

Tutors: Anna Hirsch

Monday 2:30-4pm
